Women’s World Banking is proud to announce that three members of the Women’s World Banking network have been ranked in the top 20 list of microfinance institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean: Banco WWB, Banco ADOPEM and Fundación delamujer. The list was prepared by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF)</strong rel=”nofollow”> , a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)</strong rel=”nofollow”> , and the Microfinance Information Exchange, Inc. (MIX)</strong rel=”nofollow”> .
Rank: | Institution: |
3 | Banco WWB, Colombia |
12 | Banco ADOPEM, Dominican Republic |
14 | Fundación delamujer, Colombia |
According to Microfinance Gateway,
“The methodology used to calculate the ranking is simple and is based on performance measures applicable to the microfinance industry, grouped into three pillars: outreach, efficiency and transparency. Each MFI gets a score determined by the combination of the indicators that comprise each pillar. To qualify in the top 100, MFIs need to maximize results in different areas, including improving the scope, minimize risk, improve transparency, reduce costs and improve profits.”
