Position Summary

Women’s World Banking is seeking a program director, coach, and facilitator with a passion for gender equality to lead the organization's Leadership Training Programs.

Women’s World Banking focuses on driving industry-wide change through our flagship programs that equip policymakers in emerging markets with the tools for gender intentional policymaking, strengthening their commitment to gender diversity at the institutional level and build the pipeline of women leaders.

The role of Leadership Training Programs within the Women’s World Banking Institute team is to work in an academic setting with emerging women policymaker leaders, in partnership with their executive sponsors, we provide these emerging leaders with capacity to innovate, act as agents of change, and promote greater inclusion for women. Women’s World Banking engages them in an alumni network where they can learn from other policymakers and gender intentional policy experts on global practice, to ensure continued support throughout their careers.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Director, Leadership Training Programs, will be responsible for designing and managing implementation of the programs, marketing programs with the help of the marketing team, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation. They will be responsible for financial planning and budgeting of projects as well as contributing to the development of funding proposals. The role holder leads a small team to support these activities.

The  ideal  candidate  will  have  a  successful  record  of  designing and delivering training programs within  the  financial  sector, and building a culture of diversity and inclusion. They will understand and be able to manage partnerships on a broader scale, with donors, policymakers and academic institutions. They will be passionate about women’s economic empowerment and eager to serve as a thought leader in the financial inclusion community. We are looking for innovative and self-motivated people who are eager to seek out opportunities and co-create with colleagues across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Program Design and Delivery (65%)

  • Leads the curriculum design process of all programs and develops new content to strengthen the women-centered policy design component and meet the needs of leaders and institutions served
  • Leads the delivery of all programs and ensures that components are integrated and mutually reinforcing
  • Identifies and manages partnerships with consultants and corporate and academic partners
  • Analyzes and monitors partners’ delivery, reviews materials and provides feedback, and makes changes to curriculum and faculty where necessary
  • Manages a small staff, providing professional development guidance and supervision
  • Works with regulatory bodies on organizational gender assessments for their institutions

Thought Leadership (15%)

  • Identifies trends in leadership development and diversity so that Women’s World Banking remains at the cutting edge and represents our point of view at speaking engagements to share insights
  • Works with the Institute team to share lessons learned in the area of leadership and diversity and recommend new opportunities for policy work

Monitoring and Evaluation (10%)

  • Participates in the design and leads implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework for all programs and institutions’ gender action plans
  • Oversees the effectiveness of programs in achieving individual and institutional impact towards better serving the women’s market

Business Development (10%)

  • Works with learning and development staff, Development, Communications and Network teams to ensure programs are robustly funded, effectively marketed, and well-attended with representation from a diverse mix of markets and institutions

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in organizational development and/or executive education/leadership development, preferably in an international setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in curriculum design, adult learning principles, and effective assessment strategies
  • Knowledge of major trends in leadership development and finance/financial inclusion, key debates, and current issues in the field
  • Certification in coaching and at least one behavioral or thinking preferences instrument
  • Ability to identify organization development and talent management solutions that meet institutions’ goals and business objectives
  • Ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with people of other cultures, capacities, and organizations, including policymakers
  • Understanding of gender equity issues in financial services and the pivotal role leadership and diversity programs play in transforming the financial services industry
  • Experience in team management
  • Experience facilitating one-on-one coaching engagements to meet performance and development needs, and professional coaching certification such as NBI, MBTI, 360 tools (preferred)

Measure of Success

Within the first 75 days:

  • Assume full responsibility of the position and build the foundation for a strong relationship with learning and development staff
  • Learn and comprehend the Women’s World Banking business model
  • Demonstrate ownership of the strategy and implementation of the leadership and diversity programs
  • Forge strong working relationships with Women’s World Banking teams to ensure programs are robustly funded and effectively marketed
