Position Overview
Position Summary
Women’s World Banking is looking for an individual to join a forward thinking, cross-functional, high-performing, collaborative, and fast-paced team focused on delivering banking services and products through innovative customer experiences and solutions that are commercially viable and increase customer value of the low-income women served.
You will act as Manager to manage advisory projects independently to enable our client-partners (Financial Service Providers) to effectively reach and serve low-income women with relevant financial services. This will include advocacy/consultancy, project management, relationship management (internal and external), and designing women centered solutions targeted to reach low-income women. Projects may vary in number, length, and complexity.
The ideal candidate has a background in financial services, either gained through banking or consulting, preferably with some exposure to low-income or emerging customers. Experience in retail, consumer or SME banking, MSMEs lending, product development, savings, business strategies/development strategy / strategic projects. Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and propose new ideas for ways of improving reach & engagement of financial inclusion solutions in the Southeast Asian markets of Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design Financial Solutions - micro & small –credit, savings, micro-insurance, digital financial services, or last mile solutions for low income women that are commercially viable & scalable for Financial Service Providers:

- Develop innovative and commercially viable solutions using Women’s World Banking’s women-centred design approach and implementation strategies to increase reach and/or engagement with the targeted customers.
- Establish relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the partner’s organization to understand business operations and needs, existing product offerings and channels, and to identify key drivers to influence and advocate the partner to implement the solution.
- Develop research-based perspective on financial products for low-income women to understand their profile, needs, challenges, enabling and influencing ecosystem/factor, trends & solutions that could increase the financial inclusion of women in this sector.
- Conduct industry assessments that provide detailed insights into the competitive landscape and market best practices; collect and analyse relevant data that can help to identify potential solutions.
- Develop business cases for new product/process and product/process enhancements to enable prioritization and justify investments into new and existing products.
- Identify project and operation insights and deliver knowledge sharing activity (internal and external)
Project Management and Delivery of Solutions in Field across various initiatives, locations and stakeholders- to ensure project milestones and metrics are met.

- Lead project management including the development, delivery and monitoring of work plans, milestones, targets, budgets, and both internal and external reporting. Projects may vary in number, length, and complexity.
- Ability to implement projects in the field, across multiple geographies & last mile channels.
- Ability to establish strong client relationships and work with a cross-functional team (internal and external) to ensure timely delivery of milestones, including managing external consultants to support project deliveries.
- Ensure solution rollout/implementation by the FSP partner to achieve project metrics.
- Identify and deliver strategies for to scale up the solution through advocacy to financial service industry, including coordinating with Policy Director of Women’s World Banking to advocate for policy change to expand women’s financial inclusion.
Network & Relationship Management and Development with Financial Service Providers:

- Establish and maintain deepen, strategic and constructive relationships with key contacts with FSP partners to ensure on-time project delivery and strong client satisfaction.
- Demonstrate expertise and influence senior management at FSP partner to be committed in the project deliveries and solution rollout implementation through data and insights-based communication.
- Be the “voice of the clients” by interpreting the clients’ business plans and strategic intent internally to internal Women’s World Banking stakeholders.
- Develop long-term, strategic relationships with a variety of large Financial Service Providers in SEA in order to identify a pipeline of potential advisory project partners and /or to join in advocacy campaigns to ensure policy change to support women’s financial inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in related field
- 10+ years or more experience in banking, financial services, or consulting; preferably with experience in retail banking, or MSMEs lending, product development, savings, business/corporate strategy/ strategic projects are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and successfully manage multiple projects with different stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in applied design thinking processes, including customer (behavioural) research (qualitative) and analysis, and user testing to develop effective and commercially viable solutions is highly valued.
- Proven collaborative, negotiation, and persuasion skills with different level individuals, including senior management of our partner FSPs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Indonesian and English is a must.
- Must be willing to travel extensively within Southeast Asia (e.g. Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia), and work on-site for extended durations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in the field of women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment
- Track record of superior creativity and problem solving abilities;
- Excellent storytelling skills, strong business communications skills, including written analyses, meeting management, and creating and delivering presentations a must;
- Previous work experience in a diverse, multi-cultural national/global organizations.
- Passionate and/or experience working in an NGO or development-related work.
