Summary

Women's World Banking is seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a WhatsApp Strategy Marketing Intern. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization's mission by developing and implementing a strategic marketing plan for leveraging WhatsApp as a communication and engagement channel for global and regional audiences. This role reports to the Digital Marketing & Media Sr. Specialist and sits within the Brand, Marketing, and Communications Team.

This opportunity is available for Summer or Fall 2024 and would consist of 10-20 hours hours per week, depending on the intern's availability. Please include your availability for both start date and hours per week in your application materials.

Roles and Responsibilities

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to understand WhatsApp's potential as a marketing channel for Women’s World Banking and how it can help us meet our key performance indicators (KPIs) and reach target audiences.
  • Analyze trends and best practices in WhatsApp marketing strategies, particularly within the nonprofit sector and financial services sector.

Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a comprehensive WhatsApp marketing strategy aligned with Women's World Banking's goals and target audience.
  • Define KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the WhatsApp strategy in reaching and engaging stakeholders.

Content Creation:

  • Create engaging and relevant content tailored to WhatsApp's unique features and audience preferences.
  • Develop multimedia content, including text, images, and videos through Canva to enhance user engagement and drive action.

Implementation and Optimization:

  • Execute the WhatsApp marketing plan, including content distribution, audience segmentation, and campaign scheduling.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, to identify areas for optimization and improvement.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing & Media Sr. Specialist to integrate WhatsApp marketing efforts with other digital channels and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders within the Brand, Marketing, and Communications Team to ensure alignment and consistency across all communication touchpoints.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies, with a focus on social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive content.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and metrics tracking to measure campaign performance.
  • Prior experience with WhatsApp marketing or social media management is a plus, but not required.
