Position Summary
Women’s World Banking is looking for Senior Consultants with a background in human-centered design, design thinking, and/or design research to support our Advisory work in one of our regions (Africa, Southeast Asia, India). In this role, you will focus on high-level research, design strategy, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring alignment between user needs and business goals.
The ideal candidate has expertise in leading user research, defining design strategies, facilitating workshops, and advocating for human-centered design principles across teams. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to guide project direction are key to success in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Consultant will join the core project team to ensure high quality and timely delivery of project goals and objectives.
Project Delivery:
- Define design methodology, direction, and implementation as it relates to the project objectives, goals, and timeline
- Develop design principles and solution that align with project’s strategic objectives
- Lead the project team in using various design-thinking, human-centered design methods and strategies to develop product-service solutions
- Ensure successful delivery design solution through to implementation
Strategic Analysis:
- Lead the development of design strategies aligned with business and user needs
- Oversee research efforts, including determining methodologies, conducting interviews, and analyzing results at a strategic level
- Identify trends and opportunities in data to inform design decisions and guide overall project progress
- Lead the project team to develop compelling narratives based on insights from data and research analysis
Other Tasks:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders as a part of the core project team
- Facilitate workshops, brainstorms, and design sessions to drive project progress
- Drive the adoption of best practices in human-centered design, design thinking, and design research across team
Preferred Qualifications
- Have extensive knowledge and experience working in the financial services industry, international development, and/or social innovation space
- Have a background and experience in human-centered design, design thinking, and/or design strategy
- Have extensive experience in leading teams to conduct customer research, user testing, and/or usability testing
- Ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights through storytelling
- Have facilitation skills to lead the preparation, planning, and execution of design workshop/sprints
- Have analytical skills to synthesize large qualitative data into actionable insights
- Proven track record of designing and implementing solutions from end-to-end
- Proven track record of maintaining relationships with stakeholders and influencing techniques to get buy-in at key stages of project processes
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written); a plus if able to communicate in local language of the target markets
- Preference for individuals who have experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
