Smita Jacob

Smita Jacob is a policy professional with extensive experience in strategic advisory services, policy advocacy, and the design and management of large-scale development projects focused on women’s economic empowerment, rural livelihoods, and social inclusion. Throughout her career, Smita has worked with governments, multilateral, non-profits and consulting firms, building a deep socio-economic understanding of India – having worked across rural areas in all 29 states – combined with global exposure in the USA, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Smita holds a Master’s in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins-SAIS, Washington, D.C., and a Master’s in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.
